Rolls-Royce (head office in Cracow) is looking for an experienced Cost Engineers who have manufacturing experience and also worked on cost reduction activity with the supply base.
This talented person would be responsible for identification of supplier cost drivers & driving cost improvement with their commodity area. They will support purchasing in driving unit cost down and developing cost improvements plans with our suppliers.
Value Improvement Engineer
•Leading development of component / sub system cost models (inc. User Friendly Cost Standards) using Value Improvement & Engineering tools & techniques as appropriate.
•Ensuring that User Friendly Cost Standards are generated and deployed in line with global Commodity Strategy.
•Identification & development cost reduction opportunities and prioritizing to deliver timely target cost – through engagement within the supply chain.
•Development of global Commodity User Friendly Cost Standards (UFCS's).
•Deployment of User Friendly Cost Standards training Commodity specific e.g. design & development, control of training material, planning, facilitation & ensuring delivery to target population.
•Identification of supplier cost drivers & driving cost improvement.
•Continuously leading /mentoring Buyers/Engineering/Integrated Project Teams & SCU (IPT's) to optimize cost during negotiation/product development process as recognized subject matter expert for allocated commodity.
•Continuously improving awareness about implications of advances in manufacturing technology on User Friendly Cost Standards.
Qualifications and experience:
•Process / Manufacturing/ Industrial engineering background with a strong cost, purchasing or commercial knowledge preferably in OEM aerospace / marine / automotive / power & energy industry
•Engineering degree or equivalent is highly desirable
•Understanding of principles of finance with a sound understanding of cost drivers and cost models would be highly advantageous.
•Understanding of lean principles and ability to provide technical and professional leadership to a global community.
•Proven track record in delivering results
•Willingness to travel regionally and internationally intensively
•Excellent written and spoken English
