As part of their category team the GCL supports the development and delivery of a Global Category Led Purchasing organization. Rolls-Royce (head office in Cracow) is looking for an experienced and talented person responsible for develop and build highly effective supplier relationships and to manage a wide range of internal stakeholders across Rolls-Royce business units.
In this role you will formulate global commodity strategies and ensure that they are successfully implemented.
Key accountabilities for this role include:
•Supplier Relationships: Professionally represent the interests of Rolls-Royce Purchasing to the external supply chain, business partners and internal stakeholders; Where designated, responsible for the effective management of strategic direction of partners/suppliers
•Cost Management: Responsible for ensuring commercial negotiations are carried out in line with Category and Commodity Strategies, and is fully conversant with global cost benchmarks and deploying cost management tools
•Strategic Sourcing: Accountable for the development of Commodity Strategies and for ensuring the consequent execution of strategic sourcing activities through appropriate individuals
•Quality: Accountable for quality performance of the assigned products, projects and services and the execution of improvement of counter measure activities
•Delivery: Accountable for global delivery performance of assigned commodities
•Processes and Procedures: Responsible for ensuring appropriate functional processes and procedures are established aligning, where practicable, industry best practice / standards
•Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to the extended global team of Buyers
•Code of Ethics: Responsible for ensuring their own compliance to the company's code of ethics
Qualifications and experience:
•Degree in engineering, operations, or supply chain
•7+ years experience and sound knowledge of at least one of the commodities: Small Machining, Rings, Fans, Composites, Compressors, Rotative Machining, Rotative Forgings, Casings, Fuel Spray Nozzles, Combustors, Turbine Blade Casting, Turbine Blade, Machining, Gearboxes, Bearings, Gears, Structures, Controls, Pipes, Harnesses, Brackets, Nacelles, Nickel, Steel, Elementals, Titanium, Special Manufacturing Processes
•Ability to analyze cost details
•Understands commodities including future trend, cost characteristics, statutory legislation, etc.
•Global outlook and exposure to different challenges and cultures
•Has experience in cross-functional working and leadership of cross-functional teams
•Has well honed interpersonal skills required to effectively influence and engage stakeholders, colleagues and your commodity team.
•Has a proven track record in delivering results in favourable and unfavourable conditions and experience in strategic planning and industry analysis at executive level
•Operates Supplier Relationship Management at executive level
•Has a depth of experience in financial and resource planning
•Willingness to travel regionally and internationally
•Excellent written and spoken English
