Rolls-Royce (location in Cracow) is looking for an experienced and talented person responsible for developing and implementing global external supplier and commodity strategies while driving long term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery. The person that we are looking for will be responsible for enhancing Rolls-Royce purchasing function performance within selected commodity group.

•Develop and execute global Supplier and Commodity strategies as designated, that will drive long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery
•Lead contract negotiations for single parts and where designated whole packages
•Lead cost reduction initiatives and coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing where required.
•Operate within the Supply Chain Management / Purchasing Team across the full product life cycle ensuring supplier commercial issues are resolved effectively and efficiently
•Responsible for Budget planning and adherence for designated Commodity / Products
•Lead and co-ordinate supplier relationships and strategies within the designated external buyer supply chain
•Lead specific supplier relationships fulfilling the accountabilities of the supplier relationship leader
•Consult with global commodity leader/regional purchasing manager on deviation of supplier cost performance against agreed targets
•Utilize the ERP systems or other purchasing systems and e-commerce in an optimal way to maximize internal transactional efficiency, minimizing total costs
•Contribute to improvement and share best practice across supply chain and purchasing teams
•Responsible for the execution of the sourcing process and associated tasks
•Responsible for developing vendor level supplier strategies and their execution
•Provide recommendations to the global commodity leader on sourcing decisions
•Responsible for all ERP processes in order to maintain and improve ERP compliance
•Responsible for ensuring that all purchase documents are issued and maintained as appropriate, including the required customer and governmental regulations
Qualifications and experience:
•Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent relevant degree (additional MBA is preferred)
•Experience within selected commodity groups (Iron Castings, Bronze Propellers, Steel Forgings, Raw Materials or Electrical Motors, Couplings, Seals) is preferred
•At least 4-7 years of experience in direct purchasing/supply chain management preferably in marine / automotive / power & energy / aerospace industry
•Proven track record in delivering results
•Proven track record of sourcing (including LCC sourcing)
•Proven track record of delivering savings
•To behave in a customer focused manner
•Preference for those with multinational and lean/process improvement experience
•Experience in Baan is preferred
•Possess understanding of manufacturing processes and the cost drivers, as well as total cost of acquisition impact
•Understand and able to operate Supplier Relationship Management
•Possess a global outlook with exposure to different challenges, cultures and work style
•Strong negotiation capabilities
•Ability to work in a team and to communicate globally
•Willingness to travel regionally and internationally
•Excellent written and spoken English
