Rolls-Royce (head office in Cracow) is looking for an experienced and talented person responsible for develop and implement global external supplier and commodity strategies while driving long term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery by engaging and supporting key stakeholders that enhance competitive and commercial performance of Rolls-Royce, its customers and suppliers.
•Develop and execute global Supplier and Commodity strategies as designated, that will drive long-term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery
•Manage New Product introduction and work queue including the sourcing of parts, raising and management of all purchase documents within the ERP or other Purchasing systems
•Lead contract negotiations for single parts and where designated whole packages
•Lead cost reduction initiatives and coordinate with Quality and Manufacturing where required.
•Operate within the Supply Chain Management / Purchasing Team across the full product life cycle ensuring supplier commercial issues are resolved effectively and efficiently
•Responsible for Budget planning and adherence for designated Commodity / Products
•Lead and co-ordinate supplier relationships and strategies within the designated external buyer supply chain
•Lead specific supplier relationships fulfilling the accountabilities of the supplier relationship leader
•Responsible for the creation and/or deployment of cost models (e.g. user friendly cost standards) for designated commodities/services/products
•Consult with global commodity leader/regional purchasing manager on deviation of supplier cost performance against agreed targets
•Utilise the ERP systems or other purchasing systems and e-commerce in an optimal way to maximise internal transactional efficiency, minimising total costs
•Contribute to improvement and share best practice across supply chain and purchasing teams
•Responsible for the execution of the sourcing process and associated tasks
•Responsible for developing vendor level supplier strategies and their execution
•Provide recommendations to the global commodity leader on sourcing decisions
•Responsible for supplier delivery and quality performance in assigned commodities/services/products
•Provide counter measures where a commercial decision(s) is required for resolution of part specific delivery issues (including new product introduction)
•Responsible for all ERP processes and SAP data in order to maintain and improve ERP compliance
•Responsible for ensuring that all purchase documents are issued and maintained as appropriate, including the required customer, governmental and airworthiness regulations
Qualifications and experience:
•Degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or equivalent (additional MBA is preferred)
•At least 4-7 years of experience in direct purchasing/supply chain management preferably in OEM aerospace / marine / automotive / power & energy industry
•Proven track record in delivering results
•To behave in a customer focused manner
•Preference for those with multinational and lean/process improvement experience
•Experience in SAP and Ariba/Synthesis is preferred
•Possess understanding of manufacturing processes and the cost drivers, as well as total cost of acquisition impact
•Understand and able to operate Supplier Relationship Management
•Possess a global outlook with exposure to different challenges, cultures and work style
•Experience in low cost country sourcing/supplier development preferred
•Strong negotiation capabilities
•Ability to work in a team and to communicate globally
•Willingness to travel regionally and internationally
•Excellent written and spoken English
